Cola-Cherry Gelee
Coca-Cola as a spread that's really cool - at least for cola lovers.
The mix makes it!
I do not drink Coca-Cola myself, I do not really drink anything that has carbon dioxide, but I like to try everything and I'm open to everything. My husband, on the other hand, loves coke. This jelly was also a gift to him.
Two years ago we moved from the city to the countryside. Until then I did not really care about cooking. After all, there was no time for it in the hustle and bustle of the city. But here in the country I have my dreamed own garden, with its own fruit and vegetables. Many local farmers have become real friends, who also gave me a lot of their own fruit and vegetables for recycling. Since I am fully allergic to food waste, I have come to the boil properly on the taste. In the beginning, it was just small gifts and the usual jams like cherry, strawberry and Co. But since I am a very creative and experimental people, I just could not resist and started to experiment more and more. Another reason was that jams are very, very sweet by the normal Einkochprozess with sugar - I wanted to avoid that too. This is how a period of research started for me. Everything I wanted to know what there is to know about jams and of course I wanted to perfect existing. Through countless experiments and combinations, I've learned that you can also preserve liquid - not just as a liqueur and syrup, but by boiling as a jelly. I prefer to use jeles and marmalades Gelfix Super 3: 1 by Dr. med. Oetker and pure pectin. I am very satisfied with these products myself. The jams and jellies are not so sweet pick and you taste more the taste of the fruit or vegetables. In search of interesting inspirations, I came across this recipe, which I have slightly modified. Instead of Gelierzucker I just take Gelfix Super 3: 1 because I think that Coke already contains enough sugar anyway. If you want to pimp it up a bit, add the vanilla cola or simply the pith of a vanilla junk.
I am very curious what you say to my creation. I also used this jelly in my cake "Love is in the air." Not only on the breakfast bread, it also gives the cake a certain something, I think. I did it that way:
Cola and sour cherry nectar in a pot.
Mix sugar with Gelfix Super 3: 1.
Add to the liquid in the pot, together with the vanilla mark (you can also use vanilla flavor or vanilla sugar) and the lemon juice.
Mix well and bring to a boil while stirring.Let bubbling boil for a few minutes.
Then make a gelling sample (1-2 teaspoon of the finished, hot food on a plate), when it is cold, it should be firm.
Immediately fill the jelly with hot jars and seal well.
I always have the glasses turned over for 5 minutes, that means. on the lid, standing.
Then I turn it over again.
Have fun with baking and giving love!
