Actually, the Advent season is far too short for me, for so many delicious biscuits and cookies recipes, which I still want to try. I love the traditional, rural but also the modern and extravagant and I like to combine these two components. So I thought this year that my Vanillekipferl just like my rascals need a little change I just mixed the vanilla kipper with poppy seeds.
Today I went for a winter walk with Christian, also the cold and the wind did not stop us from going out. So much the better was the moment when we came back to the warm home. We made ourselves comfortable under a blanket. The frosty fingers we warmed to steaming cups of hot drinking children's chocolate, which I had prepared before. And for the soul, we needed something sweet, I placed on our tray still a Christmas tin with this poppy Kipferl.
It was a true poem. Even so, can spend an advent weekend. Christmas magic, not only at the table, but also in the hearts of their loved ones.

I did it that way:
Use flour, butter, sugar, ground poppy, rum and cream to make a smooth dough with a dash of vanilla.
It's best to work with your hands or knead it with the dough hook of a hand mixer - you may be working with a food processor.
You can start working with the dough right away.
I always let the dough cool for half an hour to one hour.
Preheat oven to 175 ° C top / bottom heat.
Form small, evenly sized kipferl out of the dough.
Here is a video.
Lay out the baking sheet with silicon baking paper, put the kipferl on it and bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes.
Allow the poppy seed poppy to cool completely.
In the meantime, slowly melt the chocolate over a bain-marie.
Dip the ends of the fully cooled poppy seed kipper into the melted chocolate.
Place the poppyseed on a grid or on silicon baking paper and let the chocolate dry.
