Werkstatt Imst - a piece of america
The american way of life - middle in the tyrolian mountains.
How this blog post ended up in Cooking magazine.
Welcome alternation to the traditional Tyrolean cuisine.
The Werkstatt Imst takes the visitor directly to the US, just like that, without a plane ticket. I received such a special "ticket" last year from my dear neighbors for my birthday in April. (in this post I introduced you to my neighbors). They surprised me with a voucher for a "breakfast for 2" in the restaurant Werkstatt Imst. I was really happy, but only this year found time to redeem the voucher. On 1.2.2018 it was time. Christian and I wanted to use this breakfast coupon to discuss a cozy brunch, as this year everything should go on. How our jobs should evolve, what our goals are, how we could gain more time to write, and above all, what we all want to share in our lives except the recipes on the big www - because our lives are very diverse. In which direction the blogging will be steered in the future - and of course how we will breathe life into our new project Lucinaslife or how it should continue with Lucina-Cucina, what we could improve or change. Questions about questions, to which there was an answer to find, because since my first impression of blogger life, specifically Foodblogger life, in Vienna at the Afba had done a lot. Meanwhile, I was able to meet with several bloggers in person, I have taken part in some awards, allowed to sniff a little into this scene and made me a very personal picture of it. Much is not as it seems and much is very different than it had been imagined and painted in the beginning.
In addition to a notebook, a pen and a tablet, I brought only a head full of ideas and untidy mess in the workshop. It was time to sort, sort and, above all, block it out. Which frame is better suited to this than a wonderful brunch? Simply break out of the ordinary, take your time and be inspired again - that was my motto.
We live in an ever faster turning world - there comes fast food just right, also for me as a food blogger - The fast food can have quite culture, as it has proved to us the chef and his great kitchen team from the workshop Imst , They value culinary extravagance and original food designs by combining modern and traditional on the plate. Simply culinary highlights, not only for the palate, but also for the eye.
You should know we have never been to this restaurant before, although we have been living in this area for over two years and have passed 1000 times.
We traveled so much that we barely had time to explore the restaurants in our area. We drove in time by car, since I had heard that this restaurant is very busy and almost always full. Mr. C. and I like it quieter, so we have made it clear what time is the least going on there. Thankfully, there is always plenty of parking here, as the restaurant stands in the middle of the grounds of a shopping center. Full of curiosity, we entered the restaurant. I absorbed the new impressions in me.I liked the decor very much, that it is built on contrasts. Both in the colors, as well as in the materials. This mix of natural, "warm" materials like wood and leather, and "cold" materials like metal, is a great, stylish design element. Tables and chairs not only fulfill a function but also reflect the cozy, convivial and lively personality of the American Touch of this establishment. It offers a terrace, a smoking lounge and various seating areas - from the cozy dining room to the enjoyable coffee in the non-smoking area and an entire "more secluded" floor, so that all guests can spend a pleasurable time. I was also very touched by the large windows through which you can watch life outside, as in a big movie theater. The workshop is a colorful mixture of enjoyment, experience and communication. I like the interpersonal very much, so I was pleased when the good-humored waitresses greeted us warmly.
We chose a nice, comfortable, non-smoking place that was a bit off the beaten path. Of course everything was inspected by me - the interior design, the decor, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the waiters and waitresses - who were very friendly and attentive. When I had examined everything and sucked up, the food card was examined under the magnifying glass. The menu is very extensive and varied for a burger restaurant. From good breakfast, soup, salad, burgers, wraps, steaks to cocktails and desserts - there is almost everything. Even vegetarians can beat their stomachs here. Here is just something for every taste here. The portions are huge, the quality good and the prices are acceptable. The selection is so varied that even the biggest mumbo-jumbo will find it. We found that deviations from the card after notification to the service staff are not a problem! The service is very motivated, friendly, super fast, always in a good mood and runs all special requests. I believe here every guest will find his own.Christian chose the HARLEY breakfast: three eggs of your choice (with ham, cheese or bacon), yoghurt with fruit, jam, butter, bread, pastries, a glass of orange juice and a hot drink in this case a cappuccino. And mine was the REAL AMERICAN Breakfast: two fried eggs with bacon, two slices of toast, four mini-sausages, jam, butter, roll, biscuits, a glass of orange juice and a hot drink. Our ordered dishes were prepared within a short time and tasted fabulous. In between, I took a few photos of the restaurant and talked to the waitress.
If you are looking for good, fast food, on a local tour in Imst or if you are hungry, this is the place for you.
For quick food it's a great alternative to the typical fast food restaurants. Thus, the workshop Imst became a restaurant for us, in which we like to brunch and / or work there also on and offline.
But you can not only have breakfast here. There are many reasons to have a toast and as a place to meet, this place is also ideal for getting away from it all, for meeting up with some friends over an exotic cocktail, with or without alcohol, or for a treat like for example to enjoy the workshop skewer (one of my favorite food here). Recently, the cooking magazine, in fact the nice editor Aline Mareiler, wrote to me if I did not have the time and desire to present my favorite restaurant in a column. I know it well: this day did not go so well with me. Alines request was pleased but to the extent that everything else in the shade. Of course, I immediately agreed.
Since it is an Austrian magazine and I wanted to introduce something other than the usual hood restaurants, I chose the workshop as a local tip.
It's not my favorite restaurant but one of my favorite restaurants. Inspired by this column, I decided to introduce the new section "Restaurant tip" on my blog. I've been to so many restaurants, cafes and bars and would love to share my experiences with you. I will let you share my personal impressions of my visits, whether positive or negative.
In the same week there was a blogger meeting with my blogger colleagues at the Cafe Lavender in Innsbruck. For this meeting, I was already armed with a camera to tell you not only about the meeting, but also about the new place for me.
To accompany this contribution not only with breakfast pictures, we planned to end the evening after a hard day and a long meeting with a leisurely meal in the workshop. I clearly ordered my workshop skewer which I recorded for you (fillet of beef, peppers, onions, bacon, potato wedges, grilled vegetables, herb butter, baked potato and the spicy workshop dips). The way this skewer is presented, I love it. A touch of extravagance and originality is already there. I am always looking forward to it, when chefs have also dealt with the topic of food styling and presentation.
If you are not the mega-eaters, rather order a spit and tell it to you. I often do it with Christian. Several times we consciously order two different new dishes. At the latest after half of our plate is replaced - so we both have two new culinary delights in a local visit.
This time Mr. C. ordered the Rösti pan (tender-pink grilled pork medallions with pepper cream sauce, rösti and mixed vegetables). The meat was perfectly grilled and really tender. The new staff, which we had not met before, was very friendly and when they saw me photographing their food, they immediately offered to warm the food again, as I had been very sensitive to the details - but that was not necessary. It tasted great and I shared my pleasure with Alines and Alexandras (in another post) request for Cooking Magazine with Christian. A heartfelt thank you to both of you.
Often it is the small successes that give one the courage and inspiration to continue.
I think my new category on the blog has been another source of inspiration for others and also gives you lots of new ideas.
I am amazed how lively my blog has become in the meantime and how much I enjoy writing and sharing all these, not just culinary, experiences. All I need now is the right time management, so that I can share many more experiences with you.
By the way: when I held the cooking magazine in my hands and opened it at the breakfast table, I was naturally very happy about the restaurant column. But much more will be featured on the pages in the blogger. This time, my dear Diana from cooking smiled at me with Diana, with whom I have had the most contact since Afba, even though I had spent the least time there with her. As already said, everything evolves differently than it often seems in the beginning.
PS: because the Werkstatt is a biker restaurant, I chose the right outfit, a small dejavu from the Baky-my-Cake award ceremony. The same outfit, only the high elegant leather boots I exchanged for sturdy biker boots. The outfit was rounded off by a self-sewn headband and a self-sewn bag of my mom. Meanwhile, my mom's hand-made bags are my favorite bags. They are so practical and big, have a lot of space and above all, I know how much love, effort and diligence they were made. So I ended up with sustainability and hand-made by Gucci and Luis Vuitton. The bag was also put on by me with the pin "freckles in winter". This was a giveaway by Kerstin King when I bought her novel. I'm really looking forward to this interview with Kerstin, but this will be another story.
